The Dynamic Power Controller achieves power savings in induction motors by controlling the average power input to the motor so that the power input matches the load power requirement. Any power in excess of the load requirements is a wasted expense.
The Energy Scrooge regulates power by interfacing with the main power service entrance, of a building/facility. It does so by reducing the variance inherent in the grid power line and guaranteeing a smooth 108Vrms (Volts Root Mean Square). The purpose of the device is to provide consistent power but also to reduce the amount of energy used, which depending on the application, providing savings up to 19%.
The Waste Detector determines motor efficiency by measuring the delay of the current relative to the voltage. Energy is wasted when induction motors are not matched to their load. This occurs when the motor is larger than is needed or when it is idle most of the time and only periodically delivers power. Knowing
when energy is being wasted allows motor parameters to be adjusted for efficient operation, thus saving energy and reducing costs.
